October In-Person Learning Course

Ohio BWC is hosting an in-person First Aid in the Workplace Course, October 11 at BGSU’s Levis Commons Campus. The course does offer CEUs for participating programs.

Who should attend:
Individuals who need to know how to recognize and provide basic care for injuries and sudden illnesses, including how to use an automated external defibrillator (AED) for victims of sudden cardiac arrest, until advanced medical personnel takeover should attend. 

You will learn:
o How to prioritize care for life-threatening injuries or sudden illnesses.
o How to give CPR, including the use of an AED.
o How to care for a victim having a breathing emergency.
o Basic treatments for other injuries.

After this course, you will be able to:
o Evaluate a medical emergency until advanced medical personnel arrive.
o Recognize the signs and symptoms of a heart attack.
o Provide first aid to an individual that is injured.

This program has been submitted to the HR Certification Institute for review.

Division of Safety & Hygiene is approved by SHRM to offer Professional Development Credits (PDCs) for the SHRM Certification Program.

BWC is accredited by IACET to offer 0.5 CEUs for this program.
